CRUADALACH (folk metalcore, Czech Republic)

CRUADALACH is eight-member Prague-based folk-core-metal band. With specific instrumental line-up, mostly medieval: violins, bagpipe, shawms, plethora of woodwind (played without any samples during live-band shows), and of course  strong metal section, Cruadalach walks its own path as a individualistic "proclamation of the tribesmen" that respects no genre boundaries.

At the start, 2008, Cruadalach was influenced mostly by medieval and Celtic themes. During the years they developed their own folk metal genres blend with punk/HC. Lyrics are in both Czech and English, inspired by myths, spirituality and heroic values of humankind.

In 2010 Cruadalach digitally released their demo V rytmu staré krve containing three songs. In February 2011 Pařát Magazine released Cruadalach´s EP Agni - Unveil what´s burning inside containing 7 songs which was distributed in Czech Republic and Slovakia. Then the band focused on recording of their debut album named Lead - Not Follow which was released by Black Bards in 2011. The release was supported by the tour „Black Trolls Over Europe III“, headlined by Suidakra. In 2012 band won contest for supporting Paganfest (Eluveitie, Korpiklaani, Solstafir etc.) in Vienna.
CRUADALACH has shared the stage with almost every elite act within this genre, from ELUVEITIE to PRIMORDIAL.

Rebel Against Me is the second full-length album in band’s discography, containing 11 tracks, including a bonus orchestral composition, and featuring lots of guest musicians, such as the three singing Valkyries from the acclaimed Polish act PERCIVAL SCHUTTENBACH, or the professionals from the Czech national symphonic orchestra and the Czech Philharmonic. It is released by MetalGate Records in a jewel slipcase format, as well as digitally.

“Rebel Against Me” is an album proudly dedicated to all who stood for what they believed in, even though in doing so, they often risked their livelihoods and often even their lives themselves.

The album is supported by a music video of the song “Life-Worshipping Bastards” which had a  premier, along with the album itself, during the release party in January 2015 in Prague-based Jamm Club, where CRUADALACH played their special unplugged set. There was also a unique “fan” music video of the song “Zlatovláska” that is a gift to all fans who supported the band during its crowdfunding campaign that made this album a reality.
