THY WORSHIPER (pagan/death/black, Poland)

Along with the vinyl edition of the highly acclaimed Popiół (Introibo ad Altare Dei), Arachnophobia Records brings the newest Thy Worshiper mini album entitled Ozimina.

The band started in 1993 in Wroclaw by Gonzo, with some collaboration of Graveland drummer, Capricornus in times of great black metal activity in Northern Europe.

In 1996 they released the first album Popiół; (Introibo ad Altare Dei). From the beginning their music was an interesting mix of atmospheric black metal and Eastern European folk melodies. The band went dormant for many years, to come back in 2005 with a demo and new album Signum, with more aggressive musical approach.

In 2009 the band was back again with new musicians and on the Irish soil. They recorded a demo Opowieść Jednej Nocy (A Tale of One Night) in 2010.

In 2013 and 2014 the band played few festivals with Wardruna, Nocturnal Mortum, Rotting Christ, Asphyx, Moonsorrow, Destroyer 666, Skyforger, Furia, Witchmaster, Negura Bunget.

They signed with Pagan Records, one of the long-established and respected record labels in Poland, to release Czarna Dzika Czerwień in 2014. It had been a strong come back and Thy Worshiper got great reviews recommending the innovative and professional approach of their music.

Now they present nearly 40 minutes of music on MCD; 6 tracks (including a blast from the past - "Wśród Cieni i Mgieł" re-recorded), in the band's well known style, yet refreshened.
